Diagnostics & Imaging

Our hospital offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic services with advanced imaging equipment, providing same-day appointments for patients referred by our in-house consultants.

Equipment:

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Magnetic resonance imaging is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields, magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body.

We use a GE 1.5T HDXT Echospeed 16 Channel.

CT Scan

A CT scan or computed tomography scan makes use of computer-processed combinations of many X-ray measurements taken from different angles to produce cross-sectional images of specific areas of a scanned object, allowing the user to see inside the object without cutting.

We use a GE Brightspeed Lite Edge 8.

General X-Ray

Medical x–rays are used to generate images of tissues and structures inside the body. If x–rays travelling through the body also pass through an x–ray detector on the other side of the patient, an image will be formed that represents the “shadows” formed by the objects inside the body.

We use a GE Proteus xe/a.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound machine makes images so that organs inside the body can be examined. The machine sends out high-frequency sound waves, which reflect off body structures. A computer receives the waves and uses them to create a picture. Unlike with an x-ray or CT scan, this test does not use ionizing radiation.

We use a LOGIQ S6.

Echo Ultrasound

Echo ultrasound, also known as echocardiography, is a widely-used diagnostic service that utilizes sound waves to create real-time images of the heart. This non-invasive procedure helps healthcare professionals evaluate the structure and function of the heart, enabling them to diagnose and monitor various cardiac conditions.

Mammography

A mammogram is an x-ray picture of the breast. It can be used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease. It can also be used if you have a lump or other sign of breast cancer. Screening mammography is the type of mammogram that checks you when you have no symptoms.

We use a GE Alpha RT.

Imaging Scanner

Intensifier (C ARM)

The name derives from the C-shaped arm used to connect the x-ray source and x-ray detector to one another. C-arms have radiographic capabilities, though they are used primarily for fluoroscopic intraoperative imaging during surgical, orthopaedic and emergency care procedures.

We use a GE OE C 9900 Elite.

Bone Densitometry (BMD)

Bone densitometry, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, DEXA or DXA, uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body (usually the lower (or lumbar) spine and hips) to measure bone loss.

We use a GE Lunar DPX Pro.

Sleep Test (Polysomnogram)
